What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a science-based profession that considers a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Involving a thorough clinical assessment, physiotherapy helps identify any musculoskeletal, neurological and/or biomechanical dysfunction. Following assessment, targeted treatment aims to improve, maintain and restore movement and reduce pain, optimising mobility, function and performance. Treatment modalities may include manual therapy, electrotherapy, exercise therapy and education; clinically reasoned and centred specifically to the needs of each individual.
